Tideford Jubilee Celebrations

posted 1 Mar 2012, 07:17 by webmaster stgermansparishcouncil

Various groups have got together in Tideford and are planning to have a celebration of the Queens Diamond Jubilee on Monday 4th June 2012 at the RBL Hall in Tideford. The actual Jubilee date is Tuesday 5th June, however, the 4th has been chosen so that people do not have to go off to work/school the following day and there is time to do the clearing-up afterwards.

We intend to extend an invitation to everyone within the St Germans Parish Council area, ie St Germans, Tideford, Polbathic and Bethany. The plan is to hold a picnic with live music, entertainment/games for the children, food and drink for sale, (with the involvement of the RBL Club, The Rod and Line and "Hogs R` Us"). Weather permitting it will all happen outdoors but there will be the option of using the hall itself if necessary. We also plan, subject to funds, to erect bunting and hand out flags, balloons etc.

The next meeting to discuss and develop the plan is on Wednesday 25th April at 7.30 pm in the RBL Hall in Tideford. Prior to that date we would like to post a flyer and erect posters in all the villages, firstly to make people aware of what is being planned and secondly to encourage as many people as possible to attend the meeting on the 25th April.

We will be sending out a second flyer nearer the Jubilee to remind people and promote attendance.
